The Roots of Tasimba

“I’m intrigued,” she said, “How did you come up with the idea for Tasimba?”

This was not the first time I’ve been asked that question by someone interested in joining a Tasimba safari, and I very much doubt it will be the last!

The answer goes back many years to when I first started going on safaris in Africa. This is the land where I grew up and where part of my heart has always remained.  Every one of the countless safaris I’ve ever been on, whether in a 4X4 or a small boat, walking through the bush or paddling a canoe, has been powerfully inspiring – and has always left me yearning for the next one.

You’ll never feel more alive than on safari – the breathtaking wonder, living every moment in touch with your soul, and the mesmerizing natural sounds and the silence of Africa – these, and more, are what will always call you to come back.

I’m inspired by the wonders of nature. I am enthralled with the untamed beauty of the vast wilderness. I am curious and fascinated watching the mysteries of all the amazing creatures, big and small, unfold in their natural habitat. I love the feeling of being absorbed into the natural cycle of life, the way it’s been for thousands of years.

I seek the disconnected time from all the trappings of our modern world to get lost in my thoughts under a blanket of a billion stars. I am awed by the unhurried pace and the joy of rural African people, who have so little but yet offer so much.

I’m inspired by how deeply all of this reaches into my heart and soul, giving me a profound, renewed self-awareness of just how much I still have to learn and to grow.

I’ve always had a powerful urge to share this African inspiration with others – with my children, and soon I hope, with my young granddaughters, with friends and business colleagues. I’d love to share it with you too!  The African bush offers an unusual life-changing transformation experience for everyone who seeks real growth in their lives.

My passion for the wilderness at the same time synchronizes with the other passion in my life: my role as a leader and as a leadership coach helping others be the very best they can be both personally and professionally.

Tasimba, a Shona word meaning ‘Together we are strong’, came together with the encouragement and support of friends, family, colleagues and safari experts.  Today Tasimba offers our guests a unique array of inspirational benefits over and above any typical safari.

So, to answer the question asked by many, Tasimba exists for one simple reason:

To inspire people who seek personal and professional growth by deeply immersing them in a pristine wilderness in Africa.

Inviting.  Mysterious. Intriguing. Let the wilderness be your guide, as it is mine!
