Tasimba’s Farewell Season

After ten incredible years of fulfilling our passion to bring guests deep into the heart of our beloved Zimbabwe, we have made the bittersweet decision that 2026 will be the final year of Tasimba safaris.

This choice has not come easily. Tasimba is so much more than a safari.  It is a soulful, transformative journey into wilderness, into culture, and often into the very hearts of our guests themselves. But we know that, as much as we’d love to carry on forever we’re not getting any younger, so it is wiser to end this extraordinary chapter on our own terms, rather than risk ever letting guests down by having to cancel at short notice for unforeseen reasons.

Something Truly Rare

From the moment we launched Tasimba in 2015, our vision was to create something truly rare: a full week of undisturbed magic in the extraordinary Wilderness concessions in Hwange National Park. Here, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary wildlife, our guests are not just spectators.  They become immersed in the environment, connected deeply with nature, with Zimbabwean culture, and with each other.

In retrospect, our Tasimba safari was not just a trip; it was a transformative journey that awakened our senses, nourished our souls, and deepened our bond with both the natural world and each other.”

-Bill Dube, Tasimba Guest, Shamwari Clan

Working with Wilderness is one of our greatest privileges. Their superb camps – Linkwasha and Little Makalolo – their remarkable guides, and the warm, welcoming Zimbabwean staff made every Tasimba journey exceptional. They helped us deliver a standard of excellence that became our hallmark.

Our Impact

The impact has been humbling. As guiding legend Garth Thompson wrote:

In 45 years of safari guiding in Africa I have yet to come across a safari operation that offered such a meaningful, personal, genuine, educational once-in-a-lifetime experience to guests as you did!  You won over countless more Wildlife, Africa, Zimbabwe, Hwange and Conservation disciples in the short 10 years of operation than any other safari company I have ever seen.”

For us, those words say it all. The friendships made, the wonders we’ve shared, the countless moments of awe, laughter, and reflection – these have been the greatest rewards of all.

Thank You!

To every one of you who has journeyed with us, encouraged us, and believed in what Tasimba stands for, we thank you. It has been our honor and privilege to walk beside you in the wild.

And for those who have always wanted to safari with us, we still have two trips open in 2026 before we close this chapter – two more opportunities to share the magic. We hope you’ll join us, one last time, on an experience that has given so much to our guests and so much joy to us.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Hugh & Heather

Tasimba is about more than just seeing Africa; it’s about feeling it, understanding it, and learning from it. It’s an experience that stays with you long after departure, changing how you see not only the wilderness but your own life.”
