What a Safari!
When you leave Africa, as the plane lifts, you feel that more than leaving a continent you’re leaving a state of mind. Whatever awaits you at the other end of your journey will be of a different order of existence.”

We’re just back from Africa and wow, what a week!
Epic wildlife. Two superb camps. Three of Africa’s most highly qualified pro guides. Seven days of inspiration, laughter, and conversation. Eight delighted guests. And all the uniquely thoughtful extras that make a Tasimba trip so different and so very special.
This was our first safari in 2½ years, and our first ‘Explorer’ safari. And what unforgettable memories it gave each one of our guests! True to form, nature delivered something new and exciting every day. We saw it all!
Incredible game viewing!
Predators like lions, cheetah, leopard, hyena and Painted dogs. Elephants at waterholes, wandering through camp or swimming across the Zambezi. Herds of giraffe, wildebeest and zebra on the plains. Impala rams challenging for breeding rights at the start of the rutting season. Great herds of huge Cape buffalo just a few yards from the campfire at night. The grunting chorus of hippo in the river. And more!
Unique, curated experience
Inspiring daily ‘Indabas’ (African traditional meetings) on camp stools out in the bush every day. Bush brunches and dinners. Wonderful food and drink. Warm, welcoming Zimbabwean camp staff. And, oh, the magnificent orange and red skies at sundowners at the end of each day!
All of this followed a tour of the breathtaking Victoria Falls in full flood and an authentic Zimbabwean dining experience at the charming “Dusty Road” restaurant.
Once again, we are immensely proud to have brought guests to the incomparable wild concessions and matchless camps of Wilderness Safaris. And we are always so grateful to all those who made our return to Africa so incredible: the travel experts at Piper & Heath; the professional flying team at Wilderness Air; our amazing guides with mind-blowing knowledge about every living thing, the fun-loving camp staff at both Davison’s and Ruckomechi who delivered a wonderful guest experience, and all the behind-the-scenes people who quietly make everything so seamless. We are grateful and privileged to partner with such wonderful experts!
And, most of all, we thank our guests for trusting us to curate and deliver a unique safari experience that we hope you will never forget. You are our Kumberi Clan and forever a part of our Tasimba family! Thank you so much for joining us on our first post-covid safari back home.
We can’t wait to share the Africa we so deeply love with our future guests this October on our Tasimba Signature Safari, and in 2023 and beyond.
You cannot leave Africa. It is always with you, there inside your head.”
