Tasimba: You’ll Never Walk Alone

In every walk with nature, one receives more than he seeks.”

– John Muir

Did you notice recently what happened when Liverpool won the English Premier League title?  OK, except to Liverpool fans, that’s not a big deal!  What I found spellbinding was to hear the entire 61,000+ supporters passionately singing the team’s anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. Very moving!

How this relates to our world

That got me to thinking how literally true those lyrics are on our Tasimba safari. When we go on a walking safari away from our 4X4 game vehicle and into the bush, you’ll definitely never walk alone!  Our Pro Guide will lead a small group of guests who follow in a close single file – for the safety of everyone.

Walking together, you’ll see and feel nature through a whole new lens. Under your feet are the tracks and spoor of all the animals for whom this is their home.

You are the visitor here. You’ll feel your heart beat a little quicker as you look around you, acutely aware that other eyes are very likely watching you even though you can’t see them.

And you’ll be exhilarated to be together with others out in the middle of the African bush – and not walking alone!

It’s at moments like that when you really get to understand the meaning of our Shona-language name, Tasimba – Together we are strong.

Shared Experiences

As your magical week in this pristine wilderness unfolds, you will come to realize more and more just how incredibly valuable it is to share the never-ending, amazing daily Tasimba experiences with others. You all witness the same event – yet when you talk about it, you are intrigued that others saw it slightly differently than you did.

For a full week your enjoyment of the safari is enriched by sharing discoveries, observations and insights of nature, wildlife, culture and conservation.  Your own experiences are deeply engraved on your mind and your heart. And then you get to relive them, amplified and enriched by learning the way that others experienced them.

It’s this familiar togetherness for a week that inspires conversation at mealtimes, in our daily Indaba or around the campfire to become deeper, more thought-provoking and more meaningful. Ask yourself this: Why would you choose to ‘walk alone’ on a safari when you can discover so much more by sharing the never-ending amazement with others?

Come for a walk in the wild – with Tasimba. Share the experiences. Grow in togetherness.

This is the essence of Tasimba, the fulfillment of ‘Together we are strong’

A walk in nature walks the soul back home.”
