In two weeks, we will be in Africa putting the finishing touches on two quite different safaris, a few days apart. All the pieces that make our Tasimba safaris so uniquely different will be ready for our guests. Then we’ll look forward eagerly to greeting them in person!
We know they are excited to experience an unforgettable week with us. That’s why they came here. What they don’t yet know is how much their Tasimba safari will affect them. We love seeing that part. From the moment they first feel the warm Hwange breeze as they step off the light aircraft to the final wave good-bye, the wilderness has an indelible effect on all our guests. Every. Single. Time.
Inspiration
On every safari, we see the profound impact that the wild, game rich landscape has on people, an impact that touches them individually and is uniquely their own. The sensual overload has brought tears to many eyes. The wilderness inspires feelings like awe, wonder, peace, excitement, space, curiosity and so much more, when we are immersed into our vast, private concession of endless horizons, raw beauty and the diverse number of prolific wildlife thriving in their own habitat.
Wilderness instils in us a sense of belonging to something far bigger than us. Wherever you look, the pristine landscape stretches as far as the eye can see, without any sign of human intrusion. And, because ours is a private wilderness, it genuinely feels like we are the only people here. We are vastly outnumbered by 106 animal species and over 400 bird species yet it is surprisingly quiet.
It’s called Nature
This amazing place will touch you like no place before. Your safari is a wild ride of emotions. Quietly watching families of elephants, you’ll feel emotionally drawn to these gentle giants. Your heartstrings will sing when you see a pair of cheetah cubs frolicking in the tall dew-kissed grass at dawn. When a pride of lions strides purposefully right beside your jeep you will never forget the first time you looked deep into those amber eyes. You’ll feel the power of a great herd of buffalo completely taking over a waterhole in an utterly domineering strength of numbers. Mischievous baboons will make you giggle with their playful antics while overhead a pair of cranes will mesmerize you as they fly in close formation with their partner for life.
That’s when you start to feel a deep emotional sense that this is the place we all came from, our natural home. And it’s also when you come to realize that humankind is truly blessed to be a very small part of an incredible, interwoven, living organism. It’s called Nature.
